Watercolor Mother's Day Card

Image
I wanted to use the CTMH Finding Beauty set. I liked how these stamps had a watercolor effect to them. I used my new So Swirly embossing folder to give the Polished Pink CS some texture. Then used Pear Pizzazz as the accent color. The Mother's Day sentiment is from SU Daffodil Daydream.

Accordion Fold Fishing Card

Image
I found this card on Pinterest that I thought would be fun to recreate, but it didn't have any information on how to make it, so I got to figure it out for myself! Here are the details: 1. Cut Crumb Cake to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Score and fold at 4 1/4. 2. I used some old CTMH paper, Indian Corn Blue, for the next layer. Cut to 5 1/4 x 12. Score at 4, 6 1/2, 9, and 10 1/2. Fold accordion style. 3. I embossed the smallest fold with the tree bark embossing folder. 4. Layer the other two panels, 3 3/4 x 5 and 2 1/4 x 5.  5. Stamp and cut images. Adhere to front as desired. I really liked the style of this stamp set. It was fun to work with!

Love You Flowers Card

Image
I'm thinking this will make a nice Valentine's Day card. I used SU Real Red and white cardstock. The stamp set is CTMH Just Because. This was a simple layout- I used an embossing folder to give the white some visual interest and then used 1 inch wide red strip for the middle. I added Wink of Stella to the vase and flowers.

O Christmas Tree

Image
I wanted to use the CTMH Evergreen stamp set, and came up with this idea. I die cut the largest rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly die set. On that, I did a second and third generation stamp of the tall and medium trees so they would look like a forest of trees. For the first stamp, I stamped on scrap white cardstock. On the top of the tallest tree, I stamped the star in Versamark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder. Colors: SU! Shaded Spruce, Gold 1. Cut card base out of Shaded Spruce cardstock. 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4. 2. Cut 4 x 5 1/4 out of gold cardstock and attach. 3. Cut 3 3/4 x 5 piece of Shaded Spruce. Emboss with Merry Melody embossing folder. Attach to card front. 4. Attach decorated tree rectangle. Use dimensionals to add the trees to the front of the card,  5. Stamp sentiment onto scrap of Shaded Spruce CS using versamark, emboss with gold embossing powder. Attach to card using mini dimensionals. 6. Cut 4 x 5 1/4 from white CS. Stamp sentiment...

Cake Stand Birthday

Image
This set had some fun different cake layer styles to mix and match. It was a lot of fun to put together. I used the birthday embossing folder, and Night of Navy and Crumb Cake for my colors. I also added some Wink of Stella on the layers to give the card a little texture and visual interest. I came up with this layout from a card sketch I found on Pinterest.

Vintage Father's Day

Image
I have been staring at this stamp set for months, trying to figure out what I could do with it. Then I saw the Mystery Stamping layout and realized it would be perfect. I actually love the way this turned out. I used the stamped image instead of DSP and altered my measurements to fit the image. Now I'm ready for Father's Day in November!

Vase and Flower

Image
I loved the fun vases in this stamp set. I used CTMH With Love set to create this card, and added interest and texture on the white panel with an embossing folder. I have decided I'm not a fan of lots of white space, but the embossing folder gives it a beautiful texture while not detracting from the white theme. I also like the monochromatic look with the Polished Pink ink and paper.

Crayon Birthday Fun Fold

Image
I wanted to use up some random envelopes with this card. So I measured the envelope, subtracted a quarter inch from each side, and that is the size of the face of the card.  This fun fold opens only in the middle, so I made the middle one half the size of the card face and each strip of patterned paper one quarter of the card face (minus one fourth inch to give the border). The patterned paper is just random paper from my stash.  I cut white cardstock for the inside middle and the outside middle.  The front piece of white I embossed with SU birthday greetings embossing folder.  Then I stamped the crayon from School Days from CTMH and cut them out. I adhered them with dimensionals.  The red gems are from the dollar store.  Easy but fun!

Wedding Cake Card

Image
For this card, I used the CTMH set Now and Forever. I made the card mainly white, with added texture from the SU Quatrefoil Tile embossing folder. I did color in a few flowers and greenery on the cake to give it a little visual interest, and also added Touch of Stella to the sashes on the cake. I matted the image with a narrow black mat, and then used some silver cardstock I had in my stash for a wider mat. I added ribbon to the bottom to give it a finished look.

Thanks Oodles

I have a friend who is a former CTMH consultant who gave me tons of stamp sets she had collected over the years. I am enjoying experimenting with them and creating some fun cards!  This was a simple card made using the Oodles of Doodles Flair stamp set from CTMH. I used Watermelon, Tropical Blue, and Sunny Yellow (all CTMH, and quite old, so they probably aren't out there any more.) I also used white twine to add visual interest in the plain white side. I don't know why I don't love having lots of blank space. I liked how this turned out, having the white space but also having some texture with the twine.
